FAQs

How much does it cost to install Kentucky bluegrass sod grass rolls in Toronto?

Our Kentucky bluegrass sod grass rolls start at $4.50 per roll, with each roll covering 9 square feet. Installation costs are based on the size of the yard, preparation requirements, and site accessibility. We can provide a total estimate following an on-site consultation.

When is the best time to lay sod in Toronto?

The best time to install sod in Toronto is early fall, which is late-August to mid-September. Alternatively, the spring, specifically between April and May, is another good time for sod installation.

How long does it take to install sod in Toronto?

Sod installations can take anywhere from a few hours to multiple days. Timelines depend on the size and scope of the installation. For a more accurate project-based estimate, contact Queensville Sod Farms.

Do I need to be present when you install my new sod?

No, we don’t require you to be present while we install your sod. Our team only requires access to your yard and confirmation that you approve the quote.

How long should I wait before mowing my sod?

It’s best to wait at least two to three weeks before mowing new sod, or until your sod is about 3 to 4 inches tall. The best way to test if your sod is ready for mowing is to gently tug on the blades of grass. If you feel resistance, you know that it's okay to move forward with mowing.

How often should I water my new sod?

For the first two weeks, you should water your sod at least once a day and no more than twice daily. If you’re experiencing particularly dry, sunny, or hot weather, you may water twice a day to prevent the soil from drying out.
